A location in the Scottish Enterprise Technology Park East Kilbride (Arx House) is helping support local youth groups by providing accommodation as a central collection point for donations of sporting equipment and activity apparatus.
The initiative brings businesses and occupiers together to contribute equipment that will help encourage young people to participate in sport, physical activity, and recreational pursuits, as well as supplementing the financial demands on youth groups. Space at Arx House is providing a dedicated collection and donation hub, donations can be gathered in one location ahead of being delivered to local youth centres.
Access to sporting equipment and recreational resources can play an important role in helping young people develop new skills, build confidence and enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle. The donations will help provide additional opportunities for young people in the local community to engage in activities that promote wellbeing, teamwork and social interaction.
The Murphy Young Foundation would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the initiative. Their generosity will help ensure that the donated equipment reaches young people who can benefit from greater access to sporting and recreational activities, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between local businesses and the communities they serve.
